Does anyone have any information regarding the availability of the CD1000. It was supposed to be shipping in early August. I understand Fryes has had some for a while, but at a premium price. Thanks!

IMHO - if you are going to get one into your hands before 2001 you will be paying the premium price. I don't think retailers (other than Fry's) will have them available for shipment until September - and then they are probably already backordered through their next several allotments. If you do get one at a better price - the experience from those who pre-ordered FD95's at discounted prices is that they got stacked at the end of the shipment queue - many having to cancel their orders and pay full price. (see the Mavica Forum for on-going discussions on availability and interesting Mavica thoughts).
