How critical is preservation of flatness of Linhof SuperScreen to focussing? Should the screen be replaced if it has curled? What precautions or preventive measures can be taken to delay or avoid curling of the SuperScreen? Would wedges work? Has someone found an alternative that does not have a tendency to curl but provides the advantages of the SuperScreen? I thank you in advance for your answ

It curves due to heat and non support along the long edges. Some users put a match stick under the long edges.

Why does it happen? It isn't glass

I have used Bob's sugestion for about 3 months and it works perfectly. You might have to use a very thin rubber band under the match sticks so that they do not fall out. John

The answers were helpful. I lacked matches but found that Q-tips, with the ends cut off, served nicely....
