I know, i know, Michael is The Voice, but does anyone else think that Mike Mills has a pretty lovely voice too, just sort of echoey in the background. I think he sounds especially good in fall on me, what do you lot reckon? ps, Michael still has the best voice around, hehe, sorry Mike!

Yeah, Michael's voice is clearly the best for R.E.M.'s music, but Mike has a great voice, the vocal harmonies work so well in song's with Mike's backing vocals Eg. "Fall On Me", "Turn You Inside Out", "Orange Crush". Also, Bill has a great voice too, but he is rairily heard singing on his own. Try downloading the R.E.M. B-Side "I Walked With A Zombie", Bill Michael, Mike and Bill all sing a verse, its awesome! Peter - well, I have heard him sing part of "So. Central Rain", I won't say anymore!

If Mike did a solo album I'd definately buy it. No offense to all you Stipe-aholics but I think Mike's the best member of the band. I mean just look at the suits from the Monster Tour!!!

Yep, Mike is also my fave member of the band. I love all four of the guys and don't get me wrong, I think they are all extremely talented people. But in terms of musical talents I would have to say that Mike is the best, he can play bass, guitar, drums, piano, organ, keyboards, trumpet, sousaphone, mandolin, and he can sing. Bill is also a very musically talented guy, he can play drums, guitar, bass, piano, keyboards, mandolin and he can sing too. Peter is musically talented but, tends to stick to the stringed instruments, eg, guitar, bass, mandolin, banjo, dulcimer, bazouki, but he can also play piano, keyboards and drums. Four amazing guys - basically!

I actually like the sound of Mike's voice better than Michael's, to be honest (dangerous thing to say here), but Michael has a better range and is a better singer. As for "Fall on Me"....that's a case in point as to how their voices fit together perfectly.

im sorry,but mikes voice annoys the living HELL outta me....but i do think hes sound,mind. ive met the band several times,and he was the most chatty.theyre moving to ireland...or maybe they have already,so im off to stalk...i,i mean FIND them.some one said theyre staying in dalky....

I think that Mike and his voice are so so CUTE... I remember when he sang "love is all around", on Unplugged and he was so so BABY...
