Little giggle for youse all..

WSC interview with fanzine editors from all 92 clubs about this and that. Steve Jillings of Cambridge United on the best move of recent times: "....And the astute loan signing of goalkeeper Lionel Perez, who has now returned on a permanent deal".... One way or another, Lionel has made a lot of people happy this summer. In the same survey, we don't find anyone that loathsome apart from the SMB although Everton are dour and unattractive. No one hates apart from Spurs who think the best fan thing is getting more nad more annoying (nowt to do with knocking them, humiliatingly in one case, out of two successive Cups or to do with the 4 of their fans who turned up for the FACup replay??). Tranmere Rovers like us, too. Otherwise, Man U, Chelsea and Leeds are most unpopular.

Rather gratifying to read Spurs fans don't like us. As far as I'm concerned the feeling is more than mutual. Hope their fans turn on Graham and Sugar this season causing instability.

More than a fair chance of that happening Steve. The only thing that made them happy last year was Ginola and he's gone. They even criticised Campbell and a few others who weren't performing their usual heroics. Hard to please the average Spurs fan.

One Saturday last year, I was listening to 606 and there must have been 60 of them called moaning about one thing or another.....

-- Anonymous, August 09, 2000

That could have been any one of 38 Saturdays last year, apart from when they beat Newton Heath as usual. As I said my mate is a Spurs fan, so I had quite a good time last year!

Ive said it before , they are the wost fans in the league .. spiteful , horrible , jealous gits ... i hope they have more mediocrity and whinge all season . Not a good word to say for anybody , and they still cant sing .. ahhhh . : - ))

I visited a Spurs bbs recently - after Daveeeeed's transfer - and was staggered at the venom being directed at GG, who was still being referred to as a Gooner.
As at Villa, there could be trouble brewing at WHL if they don't start well.

I used to have a friend that was a spurs fan, he turned out to be a right twat, no loyalty... nowt. He was never happy and all he did was bitch and moan, obviously suffering from massive inferiority complexes. I visted a spurs bbs once and all they did was bitch and moan. Bunch of resentful panty wastes

Music to my ears. My brother is a 'Spurs fan'. He phoned me up to order me not to gloat after the FA Cup last season, which was pretty indicative of the standard of their supporters, as I hadn't even thought to call him: I was busy celebrating our victory so it just goes to show what his first reaction would have been had it been the other way round. Still, at least I don't have to hear any more stories about how Spurs 'invented David Ginola'.

Sting

I think we both saw the quality of the home supporters at Spurs last year, didn't we? Miserable, sulking, drinking soft, weak lager and not a song amongst them. Pathetic.

Saying that, one of my neighbours is a Spurs fan, and is a top feller all round...but then, he rarely goes to games :-)

Gary Mabbutt's Testimonial: Pre-season friendly '95-96.

Ginola's first appearance in the B&W, well, Claret & Blue Hoops.

Their fans: nowt

Us after an hour of constant "Toon, Toon": 'There's only one Gary Mabbutt..."

Them: applause

I mean they frigging APPLAUDED us because we decided to start singing to their longest serving player.

Can't stand them. And they took Gazza and Waddler as well.

I have a friend who is a spurs fan, and she is probably the top babe in New York - but she was born in California and has never seen them play, so it just goes to show that the only good spurs fan is [fill in your own witty ending here - I can't think of one]

Susie and I met a couple of top lads after the Cup semi and bumped into them again after the game last season and have kept sporadically in touch. They are the exception, though.

I think the point we are looking at here is that collectively bad, singular alright...that's my experience.
