and for those folks marooned in London I thought I'd visit the Evergreens for the last time this season, sound odd or what?

Are there any recommended bars in Cairns that might be open? Hillingdon NUFC (the ones with the dodgy telly reception) crew abroad!

Cairns Queensland?

LR, probably by train although I may be coming from Newcastle rather than London. Have to say, I'm very much looking forward to a 1-1 draw.

Ahhh..History eh Softie...keeps yer chin up doesn't it :-)

There's always Big Dunc's fluke followed by Shearer's two miss-hits if you want something more recent, or 0-0 in 1998/9 at OT when Robinson was shoulder charged by Irwin in the box and we strangely didn't get a penalty, or when you hoyed away your 13 point lead over Arsenal in 1997/8 (I mean, ours was only 12 and we're meant to be crap, but you're supposed to be "The Best team in the World") and Solskjaer had to comit a professional foul to prevent us taking all 3 points, or 1996/7 when we held you to a 0-0 at Old Trafford.

Face it Lancy, last season apart, it's not been a whole bundle of laughs for you playing us at OT and we are well overdue a win there.

Remind me not to play any memory games with you ok :-)

WAGER?..U will not win..ok?

-- Anonymous, August 08, 2000

Not much of a wager that, with you nabbing 2 of the 3 choices, but I'm feeling quietly confident and will wager you the standard liquid measure that we win at Old Trafford. :-)

Whats that softie , a p*ss in his pocket ?

-- Anonymous, August 08, 2000

Tee hee :-)

LR - if we have lost our manager, have seven defenders missing, are down to our fourth choice goalie and have a man sent off, then you may beat us 5-1.

-- Anonymous, August 08, 2000

West London Mags - how about the George IV in Chiswick - I seem to remember a canny time was had by aal last time?

-- Anonymous, August 08, 2000

Ok Softus...you're on..You to win......us to win...beers either way ok?...Looks like you're buying :-)

Tell ya what...if we DON'T beat you...I'm buying.....I'm THAT confident :-)

You're no prophet, though, are you LR? How amy more gaosl was Dwight Yorke gonna score more than Big Al? How many places down the table were the Scousers going to be? Which division would NUF be playing in this season.

-- Anonymous, August 09, 2000

Douggie..but I never said you'd be relegated..and Liverpool DID NOT end up top 3 so I wasn't that wrong. WGB surprised the hell outa me..as did Dwight :-)

Pints it is Lancy. Mine's a Guinness (Doctor's orders).

I'll be in the Bridge whether or not I get a ticket - if not I'll just bob to in laws or home.

-- Anonymous, August 09, 2000

Anyone received their ticket yet?

-- Anonymous, August 11, 2000

My thoughts (worries) exactly Doug. No sign here in the post - but then again, I'm sort of used to that for matches against ManUre at OT!

When do they normally send them/tell you you've been unsuccessful in your application??

Probably still go to the Bridge - whether I'd stay there to watch the Mancs cry in their beer if I don't get a ticket I dunno.

-- Anonymous, August 11, 2000

My application was not successful )0:

-- Anonymous, August 11, 2000

Screach - it varies but you normally get them at least a full week before the game...

-- Anonymous, August 11, 2000

I'd stay there to watch the Mancs cry in their beer if I don't get a ticket

Well now, I didn't think the Mancs had hearts...but to cry in their beer over whether you get a ticket, Screach....well that goes to show how wrong I was! ;-)))

Anyhooo...a couple people on the Strawberry have gotten their tickets already.

Damn - I've been rejected. I'm not sure I can take this news. Nurse - treat me carefully. Anybody with a spare.......??

-- Anonymous, August 12, 2000

That's bad news Screach - try Mungo, he came up with 3 last season.
