Printing Pictures VS Originals

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Imaging Resource Discussion : One Thread

My DC is Nikon CP800. In my opinion, it really takes good picutures. When viewing the pictures by TV or LCD monitor of CP800, the color looks good. However, when the pictures are downloaded to the computer, these pictures lose contrast and I need to use software to adjust to original color. Why? Is it normal? Do I need to tone my printer or monitor?

Would anyone give me some advice.

Thank You!!

Henry

The first step is proper monitor calibration. What image editing software are you using? After the monitor is properly calibrated you may need to create some custom profiles for your printer.
