I realize you can't take everything you read in motorcycle magazines as doctrine but an article in Performance Bike Magazine (comparing the MV to the 748 Duc, GXSR, and ZX7R) and the recent article in Motorcyclist magazine both commented on the MV's relatively modest performance (1/4 mile in 11 second vs. the GSXR's 10.3!! I had imagine the MV to be in the 10.7 range a la 996).

I'm hoping an MV owner can testify that the MV's performance is not outdated. It's a beautiful motorcycle and I'd really love one but the performance for the price is a question weighing heavily on my mind. Thank you.

Answers

The MV is faster than a 996 once both are pulling towards the top of the rev range but slower off a corner unless you really keep the revs up.
