BBSCL Stottie Cup Round 3 Replay

2 May 1998, SJP, Chelsea, 3-1 to us. A Chelsea side with an eye on the Cup Winners' Cup Final let us paste them to see us mathematically safe with 1 game and a Cup Final yet to lose. The Chelsea fans amused themselves by sliding down the bannisters in the away section while Dabizas, Lee and Speed scored for us and Di Matteo for them.

BBSCL Stottie Cup Round 4

21 August 1996, Wimbledon at SJP, we won 2-0. Al's home debut. Batty scored almost from the kickoff with a super long range chip over Sullivan (but nobody made tedious adverts about it or decided he was the best player in history for some reason), while Al scored with a beauty of a free kick with 2 minutes to go and the crowd dutifully went spare. Happy day.

Yelli's Yobs (P) 1-0 Beardo United (P)
Wallsend Old Boys (P) 0-1 Pilgrim's Converts (P)

Sensationally two 2nd Div sides are through to the Quarter Finals, with Yelli's Yobs somehow winning 2 games in quick succession (although the drop off from 4-1 to 1-0 was rather noticeable).

The QF draw is:

BBS Corithian League Stottie Cup: Quarter Finals

Duncan's Disorderlies (P) Vs Brewery Droopers United (P)
Pilgrim's Converts (P) Vs MinesaS&N Academicals (P)
Preston Big End (2) Vs FC Jumpers for Goal Posts (2)

With Preston Big End being drawn against FC Jumpers for Goal Posts, a second division side will be guaranteed a place in the Semis. This keeps the magic of the Cup alive and we just want to thank our sponsors, Stottie, (whose seeding system was supposed to prevent riff-raff like this from progressing to the later rounds thus effecting viewing figures on Greater Howdon Broadcasting) for giving us all the opportunity to enjoy the competition and partake of their lovely products. Remember, kids, Stottie is heart disease :-)

Gutted! Without the home + Premier advantage I'm sure my lads would have been through for a dream trip to Pilgrim country.
