I thought it was 8pm BST?

Sorry Ciara, you're right according to the Official Site. On todays Sky Sport and in the paper it showed the KO as 7pm - Unless 8pm is the local (Dutch) time - (the ticket info says ko 8pm which suggests that's Dutch time). There's an hours time difference between England and Holland in summer. Er - I'm confused!

Given, Barton, Dabs, Goma, Hughes, Griffin, Lee, Speed, Gallagher, Cordone, Cort.

Just in from a disapointing performance in front of 32,000. JDT inevitably opened the scoring after a positive start fromt the lads with Cort missing a gilt-edges chance. Hughes struggled all 90 minutes to contain Kalou who turned him inside out at will. Cordone looked bright in the first half causing Feyenoord's defence problems. His cross to Cort led to our equaliser with Lee scoring from the knock-down. Honours even at half-time.

Second half was poor, and we faded badly. Harper came on for Given, Marcelino for Goma. We lacked balance. Barton and especially Hughes were pulled all over the place, Cort kept wandering off-side. Cordone starting taking wild undirected shots from outside the area. Gallacher was anonymous. Solano replaced Griffin and we were treated to the rare sight of Duncan Ferguson replacing Gallacher to no great effect. Feyenoord grabbed the winner after 59 minutes with Korneev striking after another move (involving Van Gobbel) down the Newcastle left.

watched the game in the splendid company of nufc.com's redoubtable Biffa who rang his pal up to keep the site up-to-date. Thankfully there seemed to bother after the game.

Theoretically Feyenoord should be ahead in their pre-season preperation as they've a crucial Champions League qualifier coming up next week but we looked very poor. Hughes in particularly was taken to pieces and please God let Big Al be back for Newton Heath away.

Thanks for the match report. Depressing. We remember how miserable last year's 'practice' matches were, and it carried over into the season. Let's hope history doesn't repeat itself.

Bah. Not the news I wanted to come home to. Especially after watching jammy Columbus eek out another draw against opposition who really should have won(the Revolution). Ok, maybe not too jammy..their keeper played a blinder and our main striker seems to have developed a mortal fear of shooting the ball from the 18yd box when in a one-on-one with the keeper.

I just hope our lads get all this cr@p play out of their systems before the 20th. In Bobby I trust, In Bobby I trust, In Bobby I trust.....

What's that song by Del Amitri?

Goes something like.....

And the needle returns to the start of the song and we all sing along like before.....

I'd call this deja vu if it didn't happen every fucking year....

Hmm - bit of a p*ss*r that especially with a side that could easily be on duty in the PL this season. Let's hope YBR can work some magic in the coming weeks.

Unsuprisingly my paper this morning concentrates on Feyenoords performance but a couple of observations of note. Their trainer Van Maarwijk reckons we were very dangerous up front with our height, and the journalist thinks Cort should have had a hat-trick. Eric the cook (where I work) reckons we were s**t, but then again thats what most people say about his cooking.

Positives:
All these games are away and we're always crap on the road!
We got an away goal.... don't they count double

The most depressing words a Geordie ever heard: "If Carl Cort could take chances like Tomasson, we'd have won" (ybr).
