Catfish Fingerlings?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Countryside : One Thread

Hello everyone! I need to find a place that sells and ships catfish fingerlings. I have tried several #'s and to no avail. Abny websites or 1-800#'s would be appreaciated. Thank you.

Lawannea, try your local "feed & seed" store. Ours has a "fish" truck that comes by every couple of months and you can order how much and what you want! Good luck..

Sorry. Not around here they don't! I have also tried the local Wal- Mart (ours has fish), And the local fish store with no co-operation whatsoever. I need someone that deals with these things specifically. Thank you!

You could ask local Fish & Game about hatcheries. Sometimes you might need to ship them in from out of state. You can also as the local pay lakes where they get their fish. Some (but very few of them) have their own hatchery, while most can give you an address or phone # to their source.

Good luck

Try calling Tommy's Fish Farm in Harrisburg, AK (501-578-5855 or 901-937-0254)and ask them about a possible supplier in your area.

Two places which ship catfish are Zeeks (Drifting, PA) (814-345- 5357) and Ken's Hatchery and Fish Farm (Alapaha, GA) (912-532-6135 or 912-532-5395). However, shipping gets to be expensive since overnight delivery is required.

The local pay-lake folks are the ones that helped me find my fish, the hatchery wound up being 15 minutes from home.

I didn't think to tell you to check your County Cooperative Extension Agency. They should be able to tell where to find some! Good luck

Lawannea and Ken, that's Harrisburg, Arkansas, not AK as in Alaska. I know, I was born there and my family was there before Arkansas was a state.
