Marcellino won't go anywhere for less than the #1M per year he's now on - Bobby p****d off.

Now I know why the physio was carrying the world's largest box of Advil in DC...must have Bobby's name on it. WEll, Bobby's shifted Maric and given Perez the boot, no doubt it won't be long before he gets rid of the rest of the dead weight. Otherwise, I hope they like KP in the winter. ;-)

Meanwhile Duncan Ferguson, the other member of Newcastles powerful strike force, is vowing to take on the others for a place in the starting line-up, initially setting his sights on Saturdays prestige friendly with Dutch champions Feyenoord.

"I'm fit and ready to play and now it's up to the manager. I'm determined to do well because there's going to be tremendous competition for places in this side" proclaimed Ferguson. The former Everton striker has shown Toon boss Bobby Robson his eagerness to succeed by putting in extra training following his recovery from illness.

Now isn't this a great relief to read!

All we need to ensure is that we have a good supply line to this potent strike force. Shearer will be fit but it will be nice to have the option to leave him out of the starting line up on occasions. I hope he's prepared to accept that. At least YBR is a better manager to tell him than the previous one. Nobody has a right to a starting place and all of them have to accept it. SAF seems to manage his strike force reasonably well. Let's hope YBR can too.
