Flash unit on nikon-coolpix800

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Imaging Resource Discussion : One Thread

Is the flash unit on the nikon-coolpix 800 camera sufficent for photos. I heard that if you take pictures using the flash unit that the subjects on the far right & left seem to be dark. Is this because the flash unit does not supply enough light or what. If anybody knows of any problems with the flash unit. I would appreciate your comments. I very interested in purchasing this unit but my only remaining concern is about the flash unit. Thanks Hank.

With my Nikon 990, if you keep the subjects within 10 feet from the camera the result is acceptable. Beware of red eye though!

I have a Nikon CP800. Nikon CP800 is excellent after considering its price. Of course, CP950 or CP990 are much better than CP800, but please consider their prices (even double)!! If you bear in mind that the subject is kept within 10 foot, I think it should be no problem. Don't worry, Nikon CP800 is really a good choice in its range of prices.

Aloha.
