New "ER" Cast Member

greenspun.com : LUSENET : ER Discussions : One Thread

I found this on tv.zap2it.com Troy Evans who was last seen as the desk clerk in the last two episodes of the season will join the cast full time as the new desk clerk. I guess Jerry's gone for good. What did you guys think about this? I'd rather see Jerry. Troy is the only addition to the cast.

I'd rather have seen Andrew (the young guy from early in Season 6) as the new desk clerk. He had a sort of wide-eyed reaction to everything that was funny. It's good news that there are no new cast members. The show really needs some stability and space to develop the new characters from last year, and that's hard to do when the writers have to keep writing entrances for new characters and exits for old ones. I think this is the first time since the 3rd season where there have been no major characters coming or going.

I can't believe I forgot about Andrew. I liked him alot and not because he's cute. He's funny also. I wouldn't mind him eitheir.

I'm glad it was not Andrew that was signed on as a recurring character for season seven. I found the character annoying. He was not funny to me. I liked the retire cop. we saw this character in the pilot when he was shot. Carter performed his first iv on the guy. I miss Jerry though.

I agree with you, Brenda. Plus, I think it's a good idea to broaden the age range of people working at County. Anspaugh is the only older doctor/employee we see, and it's highly unrealistic that all the employees would be in the 40 and under range in any workplace.

Although Frank won't be a main cast member, it's still good that a person of his age is included as an employee.

oh yeah, the retired cop! Good catch, Brenda!!!

That's a good point Phyl, I hadn't thought of that. I just hope that Frank isn't constantly subjected to the usual "Well, he's not JERRY" sniffs that seem to accompany anyone behind the main desk.

Wasn't andrew the one who did a killer Christopher Walken impersonation?

I liked Andrew a little more than retired cop (Frank? I guess that means Frank the male nurse isn't coming back, since that'd be a little confusing sometimes). Both were rather entertaining, but if it were up to me, I think I'd take Andrew. He cracked me up. I'll say this for the cop, though-he's not afraid to stand up for himself, even to Kerry. ("Please stop yelling at me. I was here on time!")

I'm glad they're not adding any new cast members, too. Let's flesh out the ones we've got now.

I hope this doesn't mean Randi is gone! Egad!

I loved Andrew, he was hysterical, esp. during that scavenger hunt when the girls were running around looking for a doctor. I wish they could keep Randi, Andrew, and Jerry, no such luck.

Andrew was hysterical, of course, because he is/was a regular on MadTV. :) I liked him as the desk clerk too (my favorite is his Keanu impression), but there is something to be said for the older man also.

I AM pleased that they don't just stick women with the job, and there've been several men on the desk over the years. Ah, Jerry...I'll always remember him with that rocket launcher on his shoulder...

I did not even notice that Jerry was gone until a couple months ago. No one is probably going to read this now anyway because I am writing it later but I did not see the page before now.
