Is it possible to capture straight to a VCD compliant file using an AIW 32meg. Ive read somewhere in the past that it is possible but now that i have the AIW I'm unable to recall where I saw the instructions.

Thanks in advance

Hi Waz,

I also have the AIW card.

Ulead video studio 4.0 allows me to do this.

You can do it, if you have version 6.2 of ATI Multimedia Center. Previous versions will not work.

You will have to use MPEG1 for the compression, and click on the Default settings. Only this way will you get a VCD compliant file. The quality will be rather low at these settings, so an alternative would be to use better Motion Estimation settings, and fix the resulting file later with either iFilmEdit, or TMpegEnc (I recommend the latter, cause it's free, and works great).

I strongly suggest you visit the following site for (much) more information:

Take care.
