Trying to decide between Canon S10 and Nikon Coolpix 800. Waited forever to buy digital camera, now since prices are more reasonable, I think I'm ready! Will use camera for photographing Pet snapshots, catching them in constant movement....etc. Also will use for close up nature photography, etc. A few questions about digital cameras...

What additional accessories do I need to purchase....memory cards, special batteries, chargers, etc.??

How many good quality photos can you take at once, similar to film cameras, 12, 24, 36??

Is it complicated to upload/download into your computer, with USB connection? Any special equipment/software I will need to make process simple?
