to buy a telephoto lense or not?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Imaging Resource Discussion : One Thread

I am looking to buy a telephoto lense for my olympus 3000z digi cam. The standard 3x zoom is not enough for me. Should I move up to the after market 2x or even 5x zoom lenses from kenko, eagle eye..etc. Heard that they are very cumbersumb to use and takes lots of practice. Also very expensive too. Is it worth it or wait until pro cams like the D1 gets cheaper. And using their lenses is easier to swap back and forth. What do you guys think? thanks

I'm using the Eagle-eye Optics 5x zoom with my Nikon 990 and LOVE it. I'm hand-holding it at an NFL training camp and getting good images. I would LIKE to use it with a mono-pod but keep forgetting to bring it!

I wouldn't hesitate is getting one again...I'd just make sure I got the brace and viewing eyepiece that fits over your LCD screen...it makes getting an image a lot better.
