Nah - that's b*ll*x. I'm pretty sure you can switch off e-mail notification even after you've started a thread. Can't be rsed to check where but it's something I've seen and done before. Try taking a look at the e-mails sent to you and I think there might be a link in there to turn it off. Of course, I could be making this all up - nowt new there then.
