Why capturing NTSC source at 352x288 has many horizontal lines in result ?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Video CD : One Thread

Or is there a restriction when the source is NTSC, we have to capture only at 352x240 ?

Thank you. Sunar.

If you want to capture more horizontal lines in a ntsc source go to 352x480. 352x288 is ment for pal captures, and as you have found out in the usa thoes lines don't exsist. Once you are done capturing, do a de-interlace and rezise to 288.

I'll assume that you are trying to take ntsc and conver to pal? If so you also have to worry about the frame rate issues, unless you are ok just capturing at 25 and not worrying about the dropped frames.

Happy encoding
