So a Man City fan at work tells me....his dad just rang him to tell him that it had been on the radio.....anyone confirm this for me?

Or is his dad a taxi driver? ;)

Yes - I heard it on the local radio in Man today. Weah for a free, Wanchope for a club record fee.

Interesting....I'd not have been unhappy to see the back of Weah from English football cos he did look very good last season :))

So it looks like there's one less place for Ferguson togo. Which is good news!

Morning all , day off work today with conjunctivitis .. i look like ive been given a good kicking down Peckham high st , not at all pleasant .. anyhow from BBC it looks like Wanchope has gone for 4 million ( i would say waste of money but after those 2 bliddy goals at Upton park last season ill shut me mouth ) . Weah is not a done deal so hold your breath ... the Charltons , Man City and Bradfords this season are putting together useful squads , im not worried but it looks like a few hairy away trips this season , mind arent they always ?

That he'll be on a huge salary won't stop City fans being cock-a-hoop over this signing. Didn't do badly for Chelsea in the games he played for them I thought. Not sure how'll he manage in a relegation dog-fight but I think its a great piece of buisness by Joe Royle. Anyone disagree?

I thought he was great at chelsea, didn't relish the thought of playing him at wemberly and he never let anyone down. Splendid signing for city, although i do think it is a case of keeping up with the jonses. City have a young team and I think they will have a good first half of the season and then drop off as injuries mount and things turn against them. Weah will score plenty but will also be injured many times also. City may be looking to him to be everything but he needs quality to work from and I don't think city have that yet, chelsea did. If you look at the games City lost last year they were like we were years ago good for the big games shite for the smaller games.

Just spoken to my fat friend who is a die hard mad keen Man City supporter and he in absolutely cock-a-hoop over these two.

With Goater seemingly long term injured he was looking forward to a miserable season fighting relegation.......he's now hoping for top ten finish.......I would reckon its not beyond them.

Local press in Manchester reckon Weah's contract is worth #3m over 2 years. That's circa #30k pw I reckon. Not bad if you can get it.
