Lack of depth in midfield

Does the injury to Bassedas again highlight that our midfield is still relatively shallow.

We have about four right wingers in Solano, Dyer, Gavilan and Kerr. Four central midfield players, Speed, Lee, Bassedas, and McClen (who I wouldn't count on). One left winger in Glass. We could count Gallacher and Cordone as forwards who can play in the central position behind the front two, and through Dyer in there as well.

OK the lack of depth is still on the left and in the midfield. Is it time to sell (cash in) Solano and look for a quality left winger.

And surely the sales of Pistone and Robinson have raised enough to afford Guardiola.

my thoughts - put down well by your good self. I still feel we are a tad shallow in the midfield and as you said imbalanced. YBR says he's happy, so dont expect any additions

I think central mifield we are okay for the mo, but it's on the elft side that's continuing to worry me. Either play Glass or buy someone else.

Gaspart has pledged to keep the Catalan boys so we can forget Guardiola, I imagine.

Guardiola has never been a realistic option has it. He'll want Champions League footie at a minimum and massive wages.

I agree we could easily sell Solano and play Gavilan/Dyer there. At least it would solve the problem of where to play Dyer and hopefully help him in his England career.

I haven't seen anyone sign Bart Goor from Belgium yet. He looked a decent player who would easily carry out defensive duties as well as doing the usual attacking.
