I need to get a lens for 6X6 negs, and I plan to get into 6X7 format in the near future. Are there significant drawbacks to using a lens that covers 6X7 for 6X6 negs? I suppose I will need to expose a bit longer with a lens that covers 6X7. What focal length would I need? 80mm? 105? I like the nikkor lenses - is there any reason to go with another brand? Any help will be greatly appreciated! Paul

I'm using a Rodenstock 90mm lens for 6x7 and 6x9 and a Nikkor 50mm for 35mm. I can't see the difference.

My 2 year old 80mm el-nikkor covers 6x7 with excellent corner sharpness in B&W printing.
