AME Discipline 2000

When will the Discipline be available for publication and release? Also, what are the prospects of having the 2000 Discipline available on-line?? Now that I think of it, why not have the Hymnal online as well?? Just a few meandering thoughts during a lunch break.

I think putting the AME Discipline online is a great idea. The UMC already has theirs online.

Bill, the "normal" cycle was for the discipline to be published nearly 2 years after the close of conference. For the last three conferences, the cycle has gradually improved, with delivery occurring before december the following year.

I agree with your recommendation for an on-line version.

A few months ago, I sent an email to the Sunday School Union suggesting that it be put into PDF format and put online and possibly sold on CD. I didn't get a reply, but we will see if anyone was listening.

If I recall correctly I got copy of the 1996 Discipline in the early spring of 1997. Since I live in Tennessee my pastor at the time was able to go to Nashville to get several copies right after they came out.

With my OBCD system I can practically do this within a week to have the discipline on line

The question is what are the legal ramifications ?(you know... permission for more than 1000 words

Clive makes an invaluable contribution regarding his technical skill and the legality about citations in excess of 1000 words. It seems like there should be a loophole if it is not for commercial use. I will seek the advice of the AME General Counsel and if Clive is wiling and able to do this perhaps he and Rev. John can work something out. As Capt. Jean-Luc Picard was fond of saying in Star Trek: Next Generation, make it so!

I'm reviewing the discussion board with focus on issue/questions that have not been resolved. I have many questions, but let's start with the Discipline. Any progress on getting the Discipline on-line?
