Interesting that he isn't going to keep any connection. I wonder why he's done this? I'd have thought a non-exec post would be just up hsi street... 31/07/2000 UK: NEWCASTLE UNITED PLC BOARD CHANGE.

The words "undiscovered", "skeletons" and "cupboards" keep ringing in my brain as possible causes.

Or future business opportunities which might otherwise result in shadow directorships?

Sorry about the apostrophes - I know they cause you profound grief.

pity he didnt go years ago--but the seat fiasco was probably the last straw! what a 'tosser' as a business man he may have some claim to fame--but as a football director his performance was dire. good riddance!!!!

You could say without him there would be no seats fiasco but only for the simple reason that there would be no stadium expansion. We are/were the 5th richest club in the world in terms of turnover.

If it wasn't him we might not be inthe position we are in now. And if it wasn't him it would only be somebody else to vent some anger at.

Sure he made cock ups with the seats, but you have to take a step back and look at the big picture. It wasn't just Keegan and SJH.

Quite agree Debuilder.

He played a huge part in raising the revenue to it's present levels. Dropped a few clangers on the PR side, but overall made a massive contribution. I seem to remember a similar thread a few months ago. Good Luck Freddie!
