The new Windows Me software due out in September 2000 has a feature known as Windows Image Acquistion. Will the current digital cameras be able to use all of those features(including viewing pictures before downloading).Should I wait on a new purchase or will some/all cameras be upgradeable?

Only each digital camera manufacturer can answer your question, but my Olympus D460 is capable of previewing the entire card in a thumbnail without downloading, and I suspect that many other cameras can do the same thing.

The software that comes with the Nikon 990 allows the display thumbnails with Win 98.
