Petty & Overpriced

Genuinely (ie.if they were coming to NUFC), how much would you have valued these two at and why? Me:

Petit - 8 million. Amongst the top 4-5 midfielders plying their trade in the EPL last season. Worth having as long as you keep a box of Kleenex handy for the occasional tantrum.

Overmars - 3.5 million. Overrated ... overpriced ... and now, over there. Useful enough player to start half your games and use for impact off the bench at other times. World Class ? Don't make me laugh.

30 mill the pair ? I wouldn't mind being the Gooners' bank manager today. What about the rest of you then ?

excellent business for Arsenal, but in these crazy days I could have seen them both going for 8-10m each.

Why is it that teams like Arse and Coventry can make obscene profit on players while we make a huge loss on the likes of Silvia, Marcy (if he goes), Ferguson (ditto)? OK - it's a bit of a rhetorical question. It seems to only profit we are looking to make is on the likes of Ketsy and possibly a small profit on Robbo.

Yes - great business by Arse - on top of the Anal Car deal last year.

To answer the question, I'd reckon #15M tops for the pair.

Team like Arse make a huge profit because they're playing well and consistently getting into the champions league. Remember selling Sir Les for 6 million? Besides, Anal Car, My Little Pony and Handlebars were all regular first team members. Not something we could say about Marcy, Silvio, Kets or Robinson.

Maybe overpriced but Overmars averaged a goal every three games. Not bad for a left midfielder. I wish KD had signed him when he had the chance and I'd gladly have him on the left side of midfield for us!
