Not a lot. Golf Sat am, just a friendly this time. Start training to get fit for the KIMM which we foolishly entered believing we'd get balloted out and get a place next year. 3 months to remember how to run!

Oh yeah, I'm giving p beer htis w/end as well.

-- Anonymous, July 28, 2000

err that should have read "giving up beer this w/end". If it's that difficult to type I'm not sure it's a good idea!

-- Anonymous, July 28, 2000

Work work work...

Mind you I'm mostly just babysitting machines so I'll be able to play some games and watch a couple of movies I've downloaded :))

-- Anonymous, July 28, 2000

Where in Shields Tony?? >>>>> Lord am so homesick. Might take a trip up next weekend! :o)

-- Anonymous, July 28, 2000

My usual Friday night route is to start at the Quayside, Jimmys, Chase, Quilted Camel & Offshore or Akenside Traders then to Shields; Raffles, Trader Jacks, Kirkpatricks, Yates & finish in Venue for a double round. No club if I am out on a Saturday so it's the Metro back home.

-- Anonymous, July 28, 2000

Oops forgot about the new bar in Shields that we start at, it used to be Porters but I can't think what it's called now.

-- Anonymous, July 28, 2000

Ahhh Porters That brings back some memories :o)

Nice to see Kirkies is still open. haven't been in the venue in 11 years....oh now I feel really old.

Thats it I am back up next weekend!

I'm having my work leaving do on Saturday (2 weeks before I actually leave). We're all going to a Thai Restaurant in Tokyo which has fantastic views (if you like looking at buildigs at night) and oh yes, I'm going to get hammered. My boss is paying, whaey!

-- Anonymous, July 28, 2000

Gav nice! When? where? how? what for?

-- Anonymous, July 28, 2000

Hopefully I can catch up on all the things I haven`t done this week. Two days out at the New Forest Show has put me way behind. The garden needs attention again, my `doggy` correspondence has stacked up, and I have an article to write for the Shih-Tzu Club of America.

I shall hopefully be able to catch up on some of the stuff I have missed on the BBS this week too! So a `stay at home` weekend with a bit of luck. Traffic is a problem now that the holidays are in full swing - so we kind of try to avoid going out just for the sake of it during the summer season. Restaurant bookings are a pain too. BTW Tru, how was your meal?(:o)

-- Anonymous, July 28, 2000

"The garden needs attention again, my `doggy` correspondence has stacked up,"

Why don't you just call it 'dog shit' like everybody else? :-)

"and I have an article to write for the Shih-Tzu Club of America"

Oh, you just have! Sorry, my mistake ;-)

My missus went to an animal park in Bristol a few months ago.

She said that was a Shit zoo as well.

-- Anonymous, July 28, 2000

A few beers at home tonight. Into town tomorrow lunchtime with missus and jameater for a feed. Curry and The Bill Sat night (it is winter here!!).Sun, ref kids football and get shouted at by parents then down to Fremantle if the rain keeps of for dinner and a few sherberts.

Believe me Softie, that`s one aspect of looking after the dogs that I just wouldn`t be able to leave for a week!!! Not the most pleasant aspect of dog-ownership! And in our house anyway, not one that anyone else volunteers to do!!! (:d) (that was supposed to be a clothspeg on my nose!)

-- Anonymous, July 28, 2000

or even a `clothespeg`!(:o)

My Dad got involved in a very mature argument with our neighbours. This consisted of each of them flicking dog-logs off their own lawns onto the other's. We each had dogs so it was probably an own-goal that started it all off anyway. Never a word spoken (to each other!) just determindly hoying these things back and forth across the hedge. Some of them must have clocked up some serious airmiles :-o

He'd come in from gardening to point out the offending items on the grass, "Look! That f***ing w@nker has let his disgusting little dog sh*t all over our lawn again!" And then he'd storm back at and start launching these canine missiles back to their 'owner'. Considering as how our gog was a similar bore, the turds were all of identical calibre so God knows how he was so sure. I imagine that the demonstration next door was equally childish.

Obviously Theroux was cut off in mid-flow: "Most men lead lives of quiet desperation"...."which they sometimes relieve by hurling fecaes at one another's property."

-- Anonymous, July 28, 2000

hehehehehehehehehehehehehehe he heehehe. Gog?

Tremendous tale. Funny what effect dog crap has on people, it is something of a bette noir for me' Dad who gets really annoyed about inanimate but foul smelling dog waste on the pavement so instead of stepping round it he would just about shout at it....he's calmed down a bit I hasten to add. My old art teacher used to comment on the composition of drawing is that of a dog turd, it just sits there and look back at you...wierd bloke too.

I am fanatical about dog mess! It annoys me intensely when people don`t clear up after their dogs. When we lived in Leighton Buzzard, we had open-plan gardens. It was quite normal to see people walk their dogs down the road, and quite happily allow them to make a deposit on someone`s lawn (often ours, as we had a big corner plot). It was also quite normal to see me shoot out of the house with a small shovel and a plastic bag, and insist that the owners of offending dogs remove the mess. Needless to say, I didn`t always succeed, and on many occasions, it was sheer willpower on my part that stopped me from thwacking the lazy b@ggers round the head with the small shovel! (:o)

-- Anonymous, July 28, 2000

hmmm...not doing anything as exciting as flinging doggie do. Besides catching up on sleep, I'm spending today waiting for the bad new$ about damages to my car after hitting a large piece of truck debris in the middle of the highway last night. Going to a concert tonight. Will spend the rest of the weekend scanning photos and getting them up on the web. Also doing major updates to the toonarmyusa website which I couldn't do all week cause my ftp program decided to die on me. argh. Not that I was generally coherent enough during most of that time anyhow! ;-)

Jay - near Ipswich, distant aged relatives in a place called Elmsett. Should be fun.
Galaxy - yes, good food, pleasant surrounding - really enjoyed it.

-- Anonymous, July 28, 2000

My neighbour took to depositing our, I'm assuming it was "our", cat's shit on the dividing wall in the back. I thought it was hilarious, the thought of him/her collect said poo carrying past their bin and balancing on the wall. I don't know what the cat must've thought, it sure as hell didn't think "that'll teach me to shit in their garden".

There's been a lot of shit between us but we still get on.

-- Anonymous, July 28, 2000

Ciara, are you sure it was a piece of truck???????

-- Anonymous, July 28, 2000

Back onto the point of who's doiing what this weekend:

Working till late tonight

Number 1 daughters birthday tomorrow, so dropping her and three friends off at Thorpe Park....you thought the fire at TP was bad last week.....just wait till my kids get there!

Picking her up at 11.00pm........

Hopefully golf and dinner/drinks out on Sunday....see what kind of mood 'she that must be obeyed' is in.......Suppose I better sort of some T Shirts and shorts for going to Portugal later in the week.

YES.....peace for the BBS.....ITK is going away for two whole weeks!

I got it in before anyone else did.....as they say....in a manner of speaking.

-- Anonymous, July 28, 2000

Hey Galaxy.......Needless to say, I didn`t always succeed, and on many occasions, it was sheer willpower on my part that stopped me from thwacking the lazy b@ggers round the head with the small shovel! (:o)

Try using an eight iron.....I find it works well when brought down with power onto the top of the head! ;0)

-- Anonymous, July 28, 2000

Ciara - not a very happy ending to your holiday! It must have given you a bit of a shock!

True - pleased you enjoyed your meal! It is quite an unusual little place isn`t it!

ITK - two weeks in Portugal sounds wonderful! Villa holiday? BTW - liked the idea of the golf club! Hee hee hee - how satisfying that would have been! (:o)

-- Anonymous, July 28, 2000

Oh, and Gav - you`re working too hard! (:o)

-- Anonymous, July 28, 2000

It had to happen someday :((

-- Anonymous, July 28, 2000

yeah...a literal bump back to reality. Gonna cost around $500 to repair the brakes cause the calipers and rotors or some such need replacing. Though that problem had actually started in West Virginia. Fortunately the damage from the mystery metal collision was nothing serious at all. Just a splash pan torn apart, but the mechanic says it's not necessary to replace and slight dents to the gas tank and some other pan. I was incredibly lucky!!!! And yeah, TM, I'm pretty sure it was a truck piece. It was big, metal and kinda rounded. hard to telle xactly as it was pitch dark and I hit it at 70mph, not even seeing it until I was on top of it. :-/ That route does have heavy trucking. So it could also have beens omething that fell off a truck too. I shoulda lifted Al's rolex and sold it off..that would have paid for repairs! ;-)))
