Six parts of time - effort, boredom, exhaustion, repitition, trouble, suffering. Time can be our friend or our enemy (Eph 5:15,16). Time is too slow for those who wait, too swift for those who fear, too long for those who grieve, and too short for those who rejoice. But for those who love, time is eternity. When in times of joy, remember that difficulty is coming. Don't forget. But also in those dark and difficult hours, there's a mountain top as well. You don't own time. It is given to you moment by moment as a gift. "Man's life is laid in the loom of time to a pattern he does not see, while the Weaver works and the shuttle's fly, 'til the dawn of eternity." The best laid plans of mice and men are going to go astray. Only God owns time. We choose and then that choice will be repeated. So we build repitition into our choices and hence start a trend in our life. That trend is a direction, an inclination within the soul, of repeated choice in a certain direction. When that trend continues it's going to develop a habit. Bad habits are the choices of choices repeated long enough so that - as the twig is bent, so grows the tree. Today we make our decision, but tomorrow our decision will make us.
