Dilema

wor'lasses cousin is a sports journo, until recently he covered Ajax for Amsterdam's local TV. everytime he phones i hassle him for gossip and free tickets. this time he came up trumps. the authorised biography of the De Boer twins he's just written is due to be launched at the Amsterdam Arena preceded by friendlies involving Lazio-Barcelona and Ajax-Arsenal. Free food, free drink, VIP tickets followed by the launch rubbing shoulders with some of europe's soccer elite. would i like to be on the guest list? would i ever.

only in the excitement my brain fused and something rather important, something extremely important, completely escaped me. I had another match on for that evening: the Feyenoord friendly, and a very rare opportunity to see the lads strut their stuff here in holland. Damn, damn, damn. aside from anything else the lad's stuck his neck out to get me on the list and is going to be mightily annoyed if i don't turn up...... how can i get to be in two places at the same time?

The guy is a football fan - he'll understand that you'll want to watch NUFC and presumably won't haveany trouble finding other takers for the tickets at Ajax.

lunch at the corporate trough, get some tickets and fly over during the season and see the lads at the citidel - better at home anyway.

I reckon you have to 'your lasses' cousin as he has put so much effort into it.

Best bet as suggested is to come back to the toon and see them play at SJP musch better atmos.

I'd be interested to find out if the De Boer autobiography ends before, or after Frank De Boer missed the brace of penalties against Italy in Euro 2000 - I'd suspect the former?
