Anyone try the Polaroid Photo Printer?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Imaging Resource Discussion : One Thread

Your opinion of it would be most apreciated. I'd like to try this cheap printer to print photos direct from an Oly D620-L, but I think I would need some kind of adapter cable. Where would one find this cable and for how much? Thanks in advance. J.

I am using a Olympus D500L along with a laptop printing on a Colorshot Photo Printer(parallel. I love it. I have been searching endlessly for the Coloshot Direct Connect Camera Adapter and can not find one. I also have some P-500 printers. They are not as clear as the colorshot. I would love to find the adapter or figure out a way to print directly to the printer.

I have a Color Shot printer. It connects to the computer with a usb cable. You only need the adapter if you want to print straight from the camera without a computer. The printer itself was pretty cheap, but I don't consider it cheap in the long run since it requires polaroid film (only 10 pictures per pack) so I only us it for "fun" pictures - those I digitally edit on the computer (like putting kid's, nieces, nephews, etc in photo with favorite stars, Justin Timberlake, Aaron Carter, Britney, my brother-in-law with Dale Earnhardt, etc.) and then print on polaroid so it looks more convincing. If your issue is not having a computer, and you want a cheap printer that doesn't require one and you don't mind the price of the polaroid film, you might try the P-500 printer - Polaroid doesn't make them anymore, but you can still buy them new in the box from CompUSA ($29.99) and theirs lots of them on Ebay (low prices but watch out for shipping $). That's probably cheaper than the adapter you're looking for would cost. You just put you compact flash or smart media card in the slot and push the print button - no cables, no cords & no power supply. I don't have one, but thinking about getting one just to carry around with me when I'm away from the computer.
