Any 48-bit TIFF image eding freeware out there?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Imaging Resource Discussion : One Thread

I'm looking for a program which will allow very basic image editing (e.g. gamma, histogram, level correction) on 48-bit TIF files and write them out to 24-bit TIF files. I'd prefer freeware or shareware since I already have a good editor for 24-bit files (Picture Publisher). A web search has turned nothing up so far. Anyone know of anything?

I'm not sure of any freeware programs that support 48 bit depth images. But you may be able to find LE versions of Photoshop 5.0 that will support 16 bit images (48 RGB) and do Levels and Hue,Sat.,Brightness functions for very little cost.....or even free!!

Picture Window Pro can open and perform all of its operations (including the ones you mention) on 48-bit color images. It can also convert to 24-bit color for saving. It's not freeware, but there is a free 30-day demo version available for download from our web site at http://www.dl-c.com (just click on the downloads button on the left hand side of the screen and scroll down to PW25EVAL.EXE). It costs $89.95 + $6 S&H if you decide to purchase it.
