Not unlike the win/lose/draw competition, during the season but this time based on the gender of the player's new babies. Eg. Will Rob Lee's wife have a boy or girl. If you get this right, then you get to go onto the next round til eliminated. Obviously they are not going to be born in any definite order so it'll just be "next Toon player baby to be born will be a girl (or boy)". Last person in wets all the babies' heads in the Strawberry. I'll go first. Next Toon baby will be a girl.

Dyer's a dad

NEWCASTLE United star, Kieron Dyer, has become a father.

The player's ex-girlfriend, Josie Jefferson, gave birth to a boy at Ipswich Hospital. United manager, Bobby Robson, gave the young midfielder time off from pre-season preparations so he could be at the birth.

But Dyer was back on Tyneside today, preparing for the season's high-profile opener against Manchester United.
