I HAVE A CD SINGLE THAT WAS MADE IN 1987 CALLED JOE LE TAXI BY VANESSA PARADIS. THERE ARE 4 AUDIO TRACKS AND 1 VIDEO TRACK ON IT.

I AM UNABLE TO PLAY THE VIDEO ON THE PC.

HOW DO I GO ABOUT THIS?

James, what you have is not a Video CD since they did not come out util 1993. Perhaps it is a laserdisc?

It is not a laserdisc it is an audio cd with 4 audio tracks and the 5th track is a video. The cd is JOE LE TAXI by Vanessa Paradis, it is a uk 5 track cd singe that came out in 1988

When it is loaded in the rom drive it only shows the 4 audio tracks just like as if you were to put it into an ordinary cd player.

I am not sure but I think that may be a multi-session CD. If you have Adaptec EZCD creator you have to use the Session Selector program to be able to select the first session (video) as a CD-Rom drive always defaults to the last session. I have never had to use it so I am not sure how correct this info is. Good luck.

Sorry but this is a CDV, a sort of hybird between Laser Disc and and regular CD. The video can only be played on a few types of Laser Disc players.

I too have had a cd single not recognised by my PC.

My Sister wanted to see the Spice Girls - Viva Forever interactive video (1998), but under no circumstances can I find the track

I am very experienced in CD/CDR playing/burning, most likely cause is the CD manufacturer not correctly creating the session?

Any other ideas? Steve

Hi Guyz I have quite a few of these in varying sizes :- 5 inch : 8 inch : 12 inch They ere introduced (I state pensively - incase philps are looking in) by PIONEER - theywere known as compact disk videos and later took on the name LD - laser disk. I feel the 5" single size was a byproduct and not the main production.

Having said that I too would like to 'muck' around with the smaller ones on my PC - i.e do backups. Joe le taxi in excellent to mint condition can fetch £50

I tried to contact PIONEER to see if there was software available to use on a pc - but to no avail - just put them back in the cupboard or sell them regards P.S. if you have any further ino please let me know kennortune@aol.com
