BP-5 shared between two EOS 5 bodies?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Canon EOS FAQ forum : One Thread

Can I split the BP-5 and have it serve two EOS 5 bodies without any problems? It seems that the only problem would be the shortened battery life. However, my logic is not the same logic that might rule the actual performance.

Making the physical extension of the BP-5 is not a problem, nor the potential of tangle of cords. I am concerned with the problems with sharing the single energy source with two bodies. For the most part I would be using both bodies with long night-time exposures, possibly in cold weather as well.

It should be OK -- I can't imagine any way to short-circuit the bodies. But, I've never tried it -- you're probably the first.
