Grasping at straws Ken?

DC Utd. have the worst record in the US MSL this season. In addition, how good do you think the MSL is compared to the major European Leagues?

I'm more than happy to laugh at the makems' result but it doesn't disguise the fact that ours was bloody awful, in fact embarrassing.

Sorry to be a kill-joy (again!). I am, of course, happy with the makems demise, but also disappointed to see our own reputation harmed by what appears to have been a pretty spineless performance in DC. Whether it's our first game or not, the team are ambassadors for the PL, AND wearing the B&W stripes.
My guess is that we wanted a nice easy stroll rather than a fully competitive game, and got the latter, with several DC players seeing it as an opportunity to show-case their talent.
Whatever the reasons, and while it's certainly not the end of the World, a pretty embarrassing show in the name of Newcastle United and the EPL - IMO, of course.

We're right, I'm sure, to be demanding. But we're probably guilty of reading too much into it, and our confidence as fans is veneer thin after the last two seasons. The side have only been training (lightly, as well) for three days or so. It wasn't a tried and tested side by any means, with Bassedas, Cordone and Cort making debuts. A midfield of Speed, Bassedas, McClen and Gallacher isn't going to be seen again very often (famous last words ;-)). And even defensively, Goma and Dabizas can't have played more than a handful of games together.

No excuses for what seemed like a lack of effort, but the last thing we want to do is pick up crucial pre-season injuries.
