A round-up

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Unofficial Newcastle United Football Club BBS : One Thread

Appologies if all this has been posted elsewhere but here goes:

Robinson off to Wimbledon for 1.5 m

Marcelino is probably off to Deportino La Coruna for 4.25 m
Charvet off to Charlton for 750,000

Ketsbaia maybe off to Celtic or West Ham for 1 million

The wage bill's going down ad the quality of the side is going up, wahey!
Oh by the way Rangers have told Mpenza to bugger off after the way his agents have been after more money for him. Oh dear Rangers get s*****d by a forward, isn't that a shame.

Now maths have not been my strong point, some people say I do not have a strong point, however, if Kegsy is correct and we have no reason to doubt him that comes to 6.5 million. With the 2 mill for Maric and the 3 mil for Pistone, that makes 11.5 million.

We have spent 11.6 million. Again form a queue to the right to correct me, wasn't the story that Bobby had 10 million to spend, plus what he could generate in sales?

What will he do with the 9.9 million?

They've all been taken from various footie sites. Of course the story that we had no money and Bobby could on;y spend what he raised is also looking true. Looks like he may have to raise another 100k from somewhere. That's Brady, Hamilton and Serrant going as well then!

Isn't there a small matter of #7M for Cort, and whatever for Bassedas and his Latin mates? Or was that all done and dusted before the #10M was mentioned?

I seem to remember that the deal for Marcy to go to Deportivo included Helder coming the other way, therefore you could discount the #4.25M for him (yet another loss).

Sorry if I have it all wrong (not the first time eh?). However, if they need more money, I guess Rik is in such a good mood these days he'll loan them the odd #5m or so.

If all these sales come off then young Bobby's worked another miracle. With the exception of Robbo I don't think too many of us will be sorry to see the back of them (ok, Kets had his moments but let's face it; he's a Loon. We're going to be leaner and meaner this forthcoming season for sure. Bring on the mackems.

I would expect YBR to have another 5 mill burning a hole in his pocket. Where we will spend it remains to be seen as we seem to be remarkably covered in most areas, perhaps left wing.

There's also still talk of Charvet going to Charlton. Supposedly he's going, but can't say the person who 'confirmed' this knows any more than anyone else not working directly with Bobby. I'll believe it when I see him in the shirt. ;-)

By my reckoning BR will also shave a cool #4mm per year off the wage bill if all these deals are completed - and I doubt we'll even notice the difference on the playing front. The guy just gets the job done.

Now I'm hoping for one more good signing......

I wonder if the #4.25mm quoted for Marcelino is a "nett" figure with Helder coming this way as part of the deal, or "gross" - which seems more likely - with the Clubs still not in agreement over Helder's value?

#4.25mm plus Helder for Marcelino would be great business, in the prevailing circumstances.

Nice if true Clarky, by I'd think it was a swap. I hope I'm wrong!

I reckon it'll be Helder + cash - somewhere half way ish.
