Just found out the D.C. United match with us will be carried live through the internet. No other details but here's a text message from the D.C. website.

D.C. United To Internet Broadcast Newcastle Friendly

The D.C. United international friendly match against English Premier League power Newcastle United Saturday night will be broadcast over the internet. Fans can point their internet browsers to www.dcunited.com to hear all of the exciting action live from RFK Stadium at 7:30 p.m.

Longtime voice of United broadcaster Dave Johnson will handle the play-by-play duties with United defender Clint Peay stepping into the broadcast booth to offer the commentary.

Last season, Newcastle finished mid-table in the Premiership, despite an abysmal start under Dutch manager Ruud Gullit. Bobby Robson later replaced Gullit and the Magpies responded, finishing the season in 11th place overall on 52 points, 20 points clear of the relegation zone.

Newcastle striker and England international Alan Shearer finished with 23 League goals (30 in all competitions), good enough for second in scoring in the Premiership behind Sunderland's Kevin Phillips, who had 30 League goals.

Meanwhile, D.C. United are energized from four quality points in the past two MLS matches; a 2-2 draw against Tampa Bay on July 12 and a 2-1 road victory in Los Angeles on July 15, and will use the friendly to prepare for their mid-week U.S. Open Cup fixture on July 26 against Rochester at RFK.

Thanks Bud, But with Summer time all over changing in the next week or so I thought it prudent to ask. I have a friend, yes a real one in Miami and knew he was 12 hours behind.

I told you hire a fishing boat, head for Broome and ask for asylum. Works everytime. We will house and feed you until your application is approved and give you $300 a week.
