greenspun.com : LUSENET : B&W Photo - Film & Processing : One Thread

I'm looking for 120 B+W Film rated at EI 100 or 200 and developed in XTOL...I presently use APX 400 @ 250 in 1+100 Rodinal @ 68degrees for 20 minutes...this is a great combo...sharp, tonal, BUT grainey...so what I need is a finer but still sharp and tonal neg...something I can _may be_ make 20x30 out of using my 645(I personally don't see that as being possiable as all I can get out of XP2 is _may be_ a 16x20)...anyhow can anyone give me their favorite combo's...tks...jim

Try Delta 100 in Xtol 1:1 10'30"/68F EI 100-125.

Also be sure to try it in D-76 1:1 12'/68F EI 100.

20x30 inch prints from a 6x4.5 screems out for tech pan. With the proper developer(s)an EI of 100 is possible. Photographers Formulary has a couple of developers that will give a 100 EI (I've not tried them). My experience has been with Ethol TEC and Diafine at 100. By the way, I don't own stock in the company, just that their film and paper developers meet my needs.

I have enjoyed good old Tri-X at 200 developed in dilute Xtol, with just a dash of Rodinal. Extremely nice range. Great highlight detail. Lovely results.
