Natural gas disruption in Laramie LARAMIE, Wyo. (AP) - The entire town lost natural gas service Tuesday after maintenance workers accidentally shut off a valve. The mistake left about 10,000 households without hot water and forced businesses to close, according to KN Energy officials.

The disruption occurred about 1 a.m. Crews performing routine maintenance shut off the valve and left it that way, officials said.

The company brought in crews from around the state as well as Nebraska and Colorado, but service was not expected to be restored until Wednesday afternoon.

Besides leaving hot water heaters cold, the outage has also kept residents and restaurants from running stoves, grills and ovens.

Jeffrey Stoller, owner of Jeffrey's Bistro in downtown Laramie, said he could not prepare food.
