MTR Passengers Stranded by Power Failure

A power failure last night stranded hundreds of MTR passengers on the Island Line.

The failure, which happened at 7.30pm, stopped services between Tai Koo and Chai Wan stations for 3= hours and knocked out turnstiles at several stations along the affected section.

The stoppage was caused by a power failure at Shau Kei Wan. It left one train carrying 200 passengers stranded in the tunnel between Sai Wan Ho and Shau Kei Wan. Another train was brought in to push the train to Shau Kei
