Silvio Maric has finally ended his unhappy stay with Newcastle United by signing for Portuguese giants Porto for #1.34 million, report Planet Football.
Bobby Robson has attempted to sell Maric to various clubs but wanted to get a fee for the Croatian international.
Maric had touted himself around Europe as a free agent and attempted to broker a move to his former club Croatia Zagreb.
However, after failing with this, he was believed to be thinking over buying out his contract after only playing two Premiership games last season.
Porto finally moved in for him after Fiorentina grabbed Portugueses star Leandro from under their noses to team him up with fellow countryman Nuno Gomes.
Since making his #3.3m move from Croatia Zagreb back in February 1999, he made just 28 appearances for the Magpies and scored just two goals.
Porto have been extremely busy in the transfer market as they look to mount a title challenge next season and they also signed Argentinian star Juan Antonio Pizzi to a two-year contract from Barcelona.
