"The One" vs..... um, more than one?

Okay, I'm going to just start posting stuff. I don't care. :)

Do you think there's one person out there that you're just destined to find, or do you think there are a lot of people out there that you could happy with?

Honestly, I think there are a lot of people you can be happy with but, there is only one person that you can stick with for eternity. Call it destiny, or whatever you want, I'm still souly devoted to finding the one person I'm compatable with in everyway, not just sexually (I've already found someone in that catagory.)

Forgive me for being a bore, but I don't think anyone has "the one". Sure you can find a partner, but you never get all that you want. How hard it is for you to find "the one" depends on how much you demand.

Me, I'm happy enough alone so I don't feel the need to search for a mate. I prefer friendship. I do believe in soulmates. Those are what I look for - nothing more.

I also have to say a thing about sex: I always fail to understand why everyone makes such a big deal about it. Like the meaning of life would be having sex (actually, it might just be, biologically thinking. How ironic for me). I see no problem in having to live my whole life without sexual relationships.

I think that's one of those questions no one will ever really know the answer to.

But if you care for my opinion, I'd say that how happy you can be with a person depends on your ability and their ability to compromise. Like Hermanni said, you're never going to find someone who's perfect for you in every way. But if you and your partner can't agree on * anything*, there's no future in it. The people who will make you happy are the ones with whom you can make a happy compromise, and I'm quite prepared to believe that there's only one person who fulfils that.

There are billions of people on this planet, the chances of you finding one particular person that you are meant to spend your life with are slim to none. I believe that there are SEVERAL people we are all meant to share our lives with, whether you come across them or not is entirely up to fate. I've been happy with several different men, but as I get older, my needs change, I think that's true for everyone. What I wanted in a guy at 18 is nowhere near what I want in a guy now. It's just a big process, eventually it ends with you finding someone. It is true what they say, you do find love when you least expect it. So, my advice to anyone who is lonely right now, don't focus on it. Find a hobby, enjoy your friends, make plans, live your life; it'll all happen in due time.

okay. so i don't think that there is a One. i do think that out of the billions and billons of people in the world there are only a handful that are going to really complement you and Understand you. and that can be in the context of a romantic relationship and a plain old friendship. also, like someone else said, people change, your needs and wants change... who i thought would be ideal at the age of 15 is not my ideal right now, a mere 4 years later. so the conclusion here is that: there are a handful of Ones. the possibility of just one person being able to truly understand you is a bit silly, really. we are a lot more similar than we think.

re:sex.
hands and touching and orgasms are GOOD. it feels wonderful; i can get drunk off of all of that. and there really is nothing like experiencing that sort of physical intimacy with someone you care something for... it's a completely indescribable feeling. people who wonder what all the fuss over sex is about probably haven't or aren't getting any, in my opinion. it's so the bomb!
