Typical that the BBS failure occurred when I was out (bloody jury service). Anyway, looking a the error messages folk were getting, it looks like the tablespace defined for the oracle DB that runs this service was full. Or it could have been that one of the disks in the RAID array failed.

Anyway, no notification from the sysadmin, so the problem must have been no *too* serious (from a systems perspective), and was fixed as soon as the folk in boston turned in for work.

I'll be doing some house keeping anyway, so expect for some threads to be deleted.

More stats; it looks like the server was operating not wholly effectively for around 6 hours yesterday. This is the first real downtime we've ever had!

The level of panic certainly shows how much we depend on this BBs....
