Olympus C-3030 ASA Adjustment ?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Imaging Resource Discussion : One Thread

There is an ASA adjustment on my olympus c-3030, (auto/100/200/300)but I'm confused as to what is actually being adjusted. I assume that the CCD can't be made more / less sensitive, so is this just an adjustment to the programmed f-stop/shutter speed table?

I tried using incandescents (since I can't connect to my strobes) and at the 'automatic' ASA didn't give a short enough exposure to hand hold.

Also, to reply to a previous post, the strobe on the c-3030 was not powerful enough to fire the slave trigger (consistently) on my studio strobes.

So, a big boo hiss to olympus for not coming out with the PC cable for the camera (even thought the marketing guys say it's available).

Thanks for the help.
