The Chronicle are onto it.

.Softie, both applications were made at the same time..... I just read page 5 of the Chronicle by PETER DICKINSON, who has reveal;ed that there are 800 unsold Milburn seats, in the outer corners of the new expensive area. As I pointed out in an earlier posting, no one in there right mind would pay #1350 for a seat there (where DR Bill used tio sit I reckon.) There are also 200 unsold seats in the Sports bar in the centre of the Leazers end. These are the seats that the SOS were fighting over and now they have been moved not many want to fill them. So what will Newcastle United do with them? Bide there time and hope that people like me who missed out will as the season approaches cough up for them (no chance of me doing that, although there will be a few I can't see a thousand going. As Ciara sugested perhaps it would be a great PR move by them to recognise that some people missed out due to 'administitive' problems and offer long standing waiting listers like myself the seats at Milburn paddock prices, even putting a wall between us and the corporates, if they wanted to keep us out of their posh bars.Oh and BTW PETER DICKINSON will be doing a follow up to todays story tommorrow and wednesday.(he phoned me today)

The solution could be here:- ... THE RIK PLAN

O.k rik, not casting doubt mate, just making quite sure there weren't any extenuating circumstances as they would be better dealt with now than publicised.

Good luck in your fight, and my offer still stands!

Softie, I understand Mon ami I think we should all buy the Chronicle over the next few days, to see what materialises. I'm sure that the shit will be hitting the fan over the next few days. I have recieved (non bbs) E mails saying that they are in the same boat as me, I really believe that there are hundreds out there that have been overlooked and want to help to find a seat for all of them. There are a thousand unsold seats at St James' park and I think we should be offererd those seats.

Rik,

If you're right and there are indeed 'hundreds' affected then this is really big sh*t, and the Club will get ripped in the media - and quite deservedly IMO.
This was always a potentially explosive issue, and it just leaves me totally nonplussed to think they either didn't understand that, or didn't care sufficiently to get it adequately organised. Oh dear, oh dear.............

Rik, if you're looking for numbers on who got shut out and how long we were on the list, might as well add me. Not that I expected anything in the first place. But still no letter and I've been on the list since April or May 1999. Like I said, I never even expected to hear anything, until it looked like they'd actually worked their way to the bottom of the list. Then my hopes got raised a bit. I don't necessarily need a ticket this season, but would at least like to know if they plan on running a proper waiting list from this point forward so when my turn comes I'll actually have a chance at a ticket in my name.

Rik, I may be speaking out of turn here but are you sure of the numbers involved, I know they are sold out of the Milburn Stand, but as far as I was aware the North West Corner (below away fans) still had places. I rang & had mine confirmed this morning. Are the people you are speaking to waiting for a phone call, cos I would advise them to ring & ask what is going on. Did you not get the same offer elswhere in the ground that I got?

Ordinarily I would be over the moon at finally seeing my name on an official ticket but it is tainted given your predicament.

They rang on Friday to tell me that both new areas had sold out and they would have to wait to see if season ticket holders in other areadon't renew before they can see if they can fix me up.

Rik,
I'm getting the impression that this Dickinson guy is going to do the piece on a sort of hearsay basis. Do you reckon it'll convey even a minute percent of how most of us feel, and that he actually cares, I mean he is still a hack, after all, and papers must sell ?

Like Clarky, I haven't heard a peep from Rogan Josh either, or the Box Office, other than two contradictory phone calls. Am I expecting too much, or is it time for my sort to be locked away for our own safety ?

Yeah, ok, as long as you let me out at least for the home games.Oops, better not be as committal as that, haven't got the ticket yet and there's still tons of time for my prospects to be 'adjusted to my detriment due to an official oversight'.
