Questions have been asked about one's Favorite ER episode, Favorite Character, etc. However, well most episodes are brilliant, sometimes the writers/producers/actors miss a beat and produce a "not so great" episode. What is your least favorite episode? I don't want to spark controversy and remember that everyone is entitled to their own opinion. My least favorite episode is "Middle of Nowhere". I liked the Benton angle, but I wished they'd featured more scenes in the hospital.

My least favorite was the weekend rerun from last night here in Atlanta - the one where Carol gets stuck in a convenience store hold up. I had a hard time even concentrating on watching that one.

I don't remember the title of it, but my least favorite episode was the one where Mark goes to San Diego because his mother died and Cynthia follows him. (Season 4). I think it was a Mark/ Cynthia-only episode, and I'm not such a big Mark fan, so I found it rather boring compared to the other eppys, especially since I rather prefer the episodes where you get to see much of the whole cast. Besides that episode there were also some early Season 5 ones that I didn't like that much, the plots just seemed pretty poor too me.

Well it seems the episodes concentrating on only one character are the least favorite ones- I think that's funny since a lot of people here have mentionned lately that they'd love a Carter-only eppy next season. But maybe it's just that everyone loves Carter!

It's true, I don't like the one character only episodes as much, although I loved Fathers and Sons...but that was about Doug and Mark, and then Carol showed up :) I did not really enjoy the first few episodes of season 5...I liked that Lucy was there, but Carter had some weird attitude problem all of a sudden, and I don't want that to have been the result of Anna leaving or him being out of the family trust. Plus there was way too little Doug and Carol. They did have their moments though.

There are a few episodes that I don't like. Day for Knight, Family Practice, Domino Heart, Homeless for the Holidays, and my least favourite has to be How the Finch stole Christmas. There are scenes from each episode (except for HTFSC, that episode just stunk) that I liked, but in general I just did not like the episode.

Okay um..... Middle Of Nowhere, Family Practise, A day For A Knight, Love's Labour Lost (I not a big Greene fan and this whole eppy depressed me too much) and The Good Fight. Before all those Carter fans begin to slate me I should mention that I would have loved The Good Fight had it been anyone else but Lucy!

Probably "Day For Knight." I hated Lucy (I was glad she died, no offense to any Lucy fans) and just over all it wasn't very good, IMHO. Once again, no offense to Lucy and/or Kellie fans (and please don't flame me), but I never thought Kellie Martin was the best actor, and I also thought she was one of the reasons the fifth season was not that great. Sorry, I seem to have gotten a little off topic! :)

I agree with everything Adorra said...If I HAD to pick a least favorite episode, that would probably be the one. Lucy annoyed the hell out of me from Day One. And I never cared much for Kellie Martin anyhoo. Sorry, Lucy fans, I know I'm in the minority!

And one more thing. Kellie Martin is doing something good right now by helping to spread the word about (I hope I get this right) American Autoimmune Related Diseases like Lupus in which her sister died from 2 years ago this month. So how can (I forgot your names) you hate Kellie when she's doing something good. I applaud her for doing that. I'm sorry if I sounded mean, I wasn't trying to be.

Cammie, I'm sure Kellie is a very nice person (as are you). I believe you when you tell me she does good things. And I'm sorry about her sister, one of my sisters died last year too, and I would NEVER put someone down for supporting a cause like that. When I get some things in my life straightened out, I plan on volunteering/donating time to the American Cancer Society or some similar organization, because my sister died of breast cancer. So I applaud Kellie for doing work related to lupus because of her sister, or any other public service work she does.

HOWEVER--I don't think she's a very good actress. Period. And I didn't like the character of Lucy. Period. Nothing personal against Lucy fans, or Kellie fans, or you, or Kellie herself. That's all, no prob. :)

First off, to all you Lucy fans -- I'm sorry that I don't agree with you, but I don't. I already told you no offense, and I also mean no offense to Kellie Martin, but its my opinion and I am allowed to post it. Sorry if I sounded rude in my first post, but I don't think I did. I was just stating my opinion. Please don't be mad at me because of it! :)

Andie -- I didn't mean to bash her, like I said, I was just stating my opinion.

Cammie -- You started watching the show because of Lucy? Why are you still watching if you feel so strongly? (BTW, that was not asked to be rude, I just want to know.)

Also, you said that you were mad because "...there are people who actually hate Lucy." I know lots of people who hate Lucy. I'm surprised that you haven't met more.

One more thing, I never said I hated Kellie Martin as a person. I think she is a bad actress, but I didn't say she's a bad person. I am glad she is raising money for the disease, but that doesn't make me like her as an actress anymore. Once again, no offense, but in my opinion, she can't act.

Cecelia -- I agree with everything you said, 100%. I can't even add to it, I just agree with *everything*!!!

To me, Kellie Martin had just one look. That pathetic, hang-dog look. Compare that to Noah Wyle, my favorite actor, or Laura Innes, my favorite actress, who both can portray more emotion in one facial expression then some (and most) actors and actresses can portray in a whole scene of dialog, and Kellie Martin turns up short. This is just my opinion, and you don't have to agree, but I am going to post it. Again, don't hate me because of it! :)

I'm not saying Kellie Martin was terrible in every episode she was in, I liked her in "All in the Family", but then again that could be because she was dying and couldn't talk. (Just kidding!! I really liked her in that.) Let's just say that when she died, I wasn't all that sad.

i was never a huge lucy fan...i didn't hate her, but she wasn't my favorite on the show. i did like kellie martin in life goes on, from the early 90's, if i can remember. cammie, i think you are a very passionate person, but you seemed angry that anyone could hate a character. everyone is entitled to their opinion. not everyone has to agree with your lucy feelings, that doesn't mean they don't like kellie martin as a person. i like deb chen and abby on the show and i know that is in the minority, but i don't become offended when everyone complains...people have the right to disagree with my feelings. don't get me wrong, please, i am not yelling at you and i am not mad..i just am trying to explain me point of view. and my least favorite episode was family practice as well...i really like mark, but this episode just bored me to death.

Yeah everything is cool Adorra. Sorry I sound angry Erin. I'm just really mad at something I saw on the Tabloids at the store today. The front of the National Enquirer said JFK Jr. and the heartbreaking autopsy report. It's now been exactly 1 year to the day of his death and they're still writing crap about him. I'm so mad because they won't let it go. I mean he can't defend himself anymore. I think a couple of weeks ago another tabloid said that he and his wife were splitting up. Well he can't defend that now that he's gone. If he was alive he could defend himself. The point is that I'm mad about this and when someone said they didn't like Lucy that just added to it. So I'm very sorry about that. Tomorrow I'll be in a better mood.

Yep, Andie, believe it or not, there are people who actually like Cleo too. I've seen them post on this forum, and they can't understand why we don't like her. Hee hee...That's not directed at anyone in particular, I'm just sayin', different strokes for different folks. I love Mark, for another example, but there are a ton of people who think he's dull, boring, and bug-ugly. But as long as those people don't attack me personally for liking him, those people are cool with me. To each his own. :)

You guys have been so nice! :) I post on the WB board a lot and while most of the posters are really sweet and nice, we occasionaly get posters who come on and are so mean! They will flame us for no reason! We even got a poster a couple of months ago who was threatening people! He was joking, I guess, but it was still creepy!

Plenty of people don't like Lucy. You might want to read check some old posts. I've gone on many TV boards where people were rejoicing upon hearing that Kellie Martin was leaving the show.

I personally, have always liked Kellie Martin. I grew up watching her TV movies and "Christy" (I was never big on "Life Goes On" tho). It was Lucy I never warmed up to.

And you say you can't believe people could not like Lucy? Please. So many people don't like many characters. Lucy certainly isn't the first and won't be the last. What about all the Carol-bashers. And all the hatred for Cleo.

I was never much of a Carol fan either, but I didn't hate her. She just didn't interest me all that much. I was fairly indifferent towards her, that's all.

Back when we had all the suspense of whether or not Clooney would make an appearance, I didn't think they'd do it. I thought it was too predictable and the writers wouldn't cave in like that. I wondered if maybe they'd have Carol commit suicide (she did say she hated her life!) or something like that. Of course, I was wrong in the end, but I didn't really care. The Doug/Carol romance just didn't do anything for me. I must be getting cynical in my old age. :)

Cammie, you are funny, girl, I have to say, and I mean that in a good way. I have been reading you defending Lucy all over the place on here! Kellie Martin has been my hero since Life Goes On, since she is around my age. I think she's good at playing the typical characters she plays, and I think she was an interesting addition to ER. A lot of people disagree, and I can see their point of view. She WAS a very different character for ER, and some probably didn't warm up to that. I also didn't enjoy how they sabataged her character with that nagging ritalin storyline. So I, personally, do not enjoy hearing others insult Lucy either but they do have their rights to their opinions. I mean, the ONLY character who has never been flamed on here is Carter, and I think we know why :) I actually enjoy every character on the show, and I do not even hate Cleo, though I do believe she needs some improved storylines.

Something I forgot to mention...a lot of critics were insulting ER for casting KM to supposedly draw in younger "teenie bopper" viewers. I admit that it probably did bring in a younger crowd, but I do not describe myself as a "teenie bopper"; I am older and I know a lot of friends who liked her who would never describe themselves like that. Carter, Harper (i.e. psycho from 90210!) and others were younger than KM when they came on. In fact, I was happy to see Lucy partying and stuff, like (some) real med students do. And some of her storylines (like losing the body in Vanishing Act) were hysterical. So that kind of offended me, and I've been meaning to say something about it for awhile, so now seemed appropriate...but it's just hollywood, so just like you, Cammie, I can't let it get to me.

Like I said yesterday I was mad at those tabloids who continue to write crap about JFK Jr. who has been dead for a year now. I still can't believe he's gone. I was mad and when someone said they didn't like Lucy that added to it. So sorry about that. I'm in a much better mood today. As for the critics well Noah was 23 when he started on the show. What do they say about that? I don't listen to them anyways.

"Teeny boppers?" Are you serious?! LOL, that is a very old- fashioned term...I can't believe it. Only someone who was VERY out of touch with the modern world would make a casting decision based on something like that, using the term "teeny bopper." No wonder her character wasn't well developed. Someone in charge had their head up their butt.

KM does tend to play a certain type of character: a goody goody like in Life Goes on or Christy. Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against seeing wholesome characters on TV...but her characters always seemed identical to me, and all identically self-righteous. *shrug* Like I've said, though, I know I'm in the minority, so please no flames! :)

My least favorite episode was "Under Control". It started at 10p EST and ended at 11p EST and apparently, nothing happened because I remember *nothing* except for when Luka & Kerry finally showed up at the end (maybe they were making out in the parking lot?). Yawn City. Second in the running was "Middle of Nowhere". Just had the joy of recording over that episode (found it on an old tape). I only recorded it because I was away & thought something interesting might happen. But it was All Benton, All the Time and nothing interesting *did* happen. Blah.

And I don't look forward to sitting through an all-Carter eppy. Nothing against him, really, but S6 was Carter overkill for me and now I'm a little tired of him. And please...no more Mark-centered eppies (*very* tired of Mark!). Of course, I'd love to see a Luka- centered eppy one day, maybe in Croatia, but that's because I love Luka. :).

As much as I didn't find Middle of Nowhere very interesting, I think it would have done better in a show w/ a different atmosphere...we aren't used to seeing that on ER. However, it was a slight turning point for Benton and I really enjoyed seeing him return to the hospital and immediately go to Jeanne when he hears about her HIV complications. I miss their friendship now.

And Cammie, I agree about the whole JFK Jr. thing. A year ago I read all about this and now, just a few days ago I saw on ET or Extra, about how the couple was having problems and it even came out about how they screamed and yelled at each other awhile ago once in public and ended up crying together. THey reported that they were just starting to get things back together around the time of the accident. I was fascinated to read about his life and their romance and I did not want to hear a year after their death that they were having problems. EVERYONE has problems, I can't believe they can't let it rest in peace.

My least favorite 5 were (in no particular order)...

Family Practice (I think the overwhelming least-favorite. At least they followed it up with Exodus, one of everyone's 5 favorites.)

Take These Broken Wings (although sometimes I miss Susan)

Shades of Grey (the abortion clinic one. it just all felt contrived to me. Plus Jeanie sang a Green day song at a funeral. Please.)

The Storm (part 2) (just because there's no way Doug would walk out like that and we all know it. Thanks for making good on it this year though. And the whole Carter Lucy makeout stuff that came out of nowhere and went nowhere. Everybody was out of character. Additionally I never liked the Joi storyline anyway.)

I guess Middle of Nowhere (although I do like Peter)

Actually looking back on it it was hard to think of 5 really really bad ER episodes. Even the less interesting ones have some good in them. I even liked most of Ambush and Long way Around.

I think that "sailing away" is a disappointing episode. I always look forward to the episodes that a beloved character gives birth. I think it was quite a disappointment even more so when compared to the greatness of Carol's birth.

Also- I think that the Green Day song was a perfect song to sing because in the scenes with her and the kid that died the kid was always singing "time of your life"
