The shutter speed is too fast (1/6s) that I can't take a photo at night. It is possible to fix this problem by firmware upgrade I think as the shutter speed is not related to the hardware upgrade.

Unfortunately the answer is no. I took this up with Sony 3 months ago and their answer was to buy the F505V.

One thing to remember with your 505. In twilight + mode you are shooting at about 1/4". I took alot of low light shots with this setting and got great results, however full night where you want 4 to 8 sec you won't get.

Still is I think the best of 2.1 mp camera, I ruined mine and miss it everyday, the newer 505V is not the same in many ways.
