I am phasing this forum out

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TB2K spinoff uncensored : One Thread

I am so sick and tired of all the complaints of Andy Ray and his cohorts to the MIT staff that I have decided to phase out this forum.

I don't know if his claims of invasion of privacy are accurate or not, and frankly I could care less at this point. I spent my time and energy to provide a medium in which ideas could be discussed freely (and to test my software), and it pains me to admit that poor judgement on the part of the sysops could combine with one pissed-off asshole to bring it to this point; but it has.

This forum now limits the amount of text that can be posted per post or response. I will decrease the allowed amount until this drives away every Y2k fanatic on my forums.

Y2K is over people, get a life.

I am going to close this forum

I don't think it's Phil.

Not to worry. Oxy already de-bunked this the first time it was posted. She contacted Greenspun directly. He said it was not true.

Again, I have not been emailing Mr. Greenspun.

I did get an error when attempting to post a Quotably Quoted message, and (publickly, even) wondered what was about. Flint responded that he was experiencing similar errors, and it seems limited to the length of the post.

I have two questions: Who would be able to impose such a limit on the posts, if not Mr. Greenspun; and Who posted this (seemingly accurate - this time) message? I suspect Sysyman may be impersonating Mr. Greenspun, due to his mental instability, but this is just a guess...

Vindicated Regards,
Andy Ray

Andy Ray: "I suspect Sysyman may be impersonating Mr. Greenspun, due to his mental instability..."

If ANYONE should be familiar with mental instability, my bet is it would be Andy Ray.

"...and it seems limited to the length of the post."

Now there's a hint if I've ever heard one.

Obviously posted by a moron. Phil isn't even in Cambridge at the moment and I am sure that this forum is not the first thing on his mind.

Best wishes,,,,

We don't need Greenspun for this. Between Andy Ray's fixations, CPR's incoherent screeching, al-d's illiterate sermons and Big Text's stupid HTML tricks, we are phasing ourselves out.

-- Flint (flintc@mindspring.com), July 15, 2000.

Flint--

BTM says he is hanging it up. AR, cpr and al-d seem to be Energizer bunnies.

The rest of us are perfect.

As IF we would fall for it even once, let alone twice. {shakes head in disgust}.

Andy,

Sorry, not me. I hope OTFR will verify this.

That's not my style. But it's also not my style to discuss how to disrupt a forum, and it's not my style to have a sysop say that I have e-mailed the president of MIT, and Philip in the past, trying to have a forum shut down.

Not my style, but someone's... <:)=

When Andy and CPR decide to quiet down or take a vacation, will Lady Logic suddenly and coincidentally reappear?

-- Wonderin (about@lots.of.things), July 15, 2000.

Netghost finally quieted down, I always thought she was lady logic.

-- ? (?@?.?), July 16, 2000.

I have this figured out: Andy Ray (on a bad day) = cpr. Andy Ray (on a good day) = ELIZA. cpr (on a good day) = al-d. cpr (on a bad day) = Big Text Man. BTM (on a good day) = King of Spain (KoS). KoS = Bill Clinton. Bill Clinton = Al Gore. Al Gore = ELIZA. ELIZA = some 15-year-old in Palo Alto playing with his parent's computer, who also just happens to be named Andy Ray (the kid, not the computer, which was manufactured by Micro-Electronic Manufacturing Enterprises of Antwerp and is called "Memezie" by the family). Elementary, sort of.
