Back in the office again........21:12.......roaring noise begining to the East of me......builds to a crescendo.....in seconds it is over head.......then whoooooooooooooshhhh......it is overhead and the gone exiting West like a very small swarm of wasp/bees disappearing in the distance.

Yes, you've guessed it........The Arrows have just paid a visit....and in f**king formation flanking f**king Concorde. Not at top speed obviously, but it was still a sight to behold.

YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS......what a noise, but what a sight....I think I'm gonna wet myself!

I've been on Concorde, mind it was on the tarmac at Duxford air drome at the time!

I'm fortunate enough to have flown on Concord over the Atlantic, twice.
First time, I had missed my London flight from JFK and BA very kindly offered me a seat on Concord leaving two hours after the plane that I'd missed - and arriving at LHR before it!!! Brilliant experience - very small plane internally, but very comfortable and excellent service. Great memory.
The second time I just had to be at a mid-day meeting in Manhattan at very short notice, and convinced the company that the only way I could do it was via Concord!
Everything went well and we got to JFK in just over 3 hours, I believe at around 11:00am. Anyway, I got into a taxi, and got stuck in horrific traffic. It took 3 hours to get from JFK to Mid-Town Manhattan, and I was 2 hours late for the meeting.
3 hrs LHR - JFK: 3hrs JFK - Manhattan. The joys of travelling!!!

21:15 London Time and they have just roared over head again tonight.....minus concorde this time, but seem to have some other 'passenger' aircraft in the formation.

Remind me, where is the show you are going to next week.......was it at Cottesmore.....we are filming there for the Air Show programme with Alaine de Cadanet(sp) next weekend which will be shown the following week......if it is the one you are at....wangle yourself an interview so that we can all see you 'in person' as it were.

ITK - can't you get a reduction in your rates, what with all this aircraft noise going on? Or is that what's causing me interferon on me telly?

PS. I forgot to say - the EasyJet to Liverpool flys past our house every day. Not as fast but a bliddy sight more colourful.

Wow, Clarky! That's so cool!! Did it feel any different to a normal plane when you broke the sound barrier? When I worked with Big Apple Circus, our rehearsal ground was under the Concorde's flight path. We could tell time by the sonic boom as it came in each morning!

Hmmm

ITK - yep its @ Cottesmore. How does one 'wangle an interview' ? Last year there were 90,000 people there each day.

We'll be in the Waitrose Garden which is almost plumb in the middle of the display line. Fenced in area so safe for kids to roam fairly freely. Deckchairs as seating which believe it or not is ideal for viewing aircraft.

It would make an ideal spot for a spot in your program - a mix of families & sufficient anoraks to keep the theme going.

I'll be in my Toon change kit (last seasons if the new one hasn't arrived yet - my Mrs ordered L not XL - nice thought darling).

ITK - any joy on sorting my interview ?

Will I need a make up artist ?

Josh, you're the only artist that will be there. Enjoy.
