Burning Smell?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : MV Agusta F4 : One Thread

I was on my way to work today and left the bike idling to warm it up. I never warmed up the bike before, I would just start with choke on and ride her gently for a few miles. But today when I left her idling and started riding; I smelled something burning. A sort of burning plastic aroma. I pulled over and a minute amount of smoked rose up, grayish color. I went back home and put her in the garage.

I took off the fairings, first time to see her naked. She's wonderful with the plastic on and off. I couldn't see any signs of where the smoke or aroma came from.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Probably just my paranoia. I rode her again and no smoke or aroma. I'm gussing smoke was brake dust and smell, dunno? She's running perfect.

I had the same, just ones. my fairing on the right side under the engine is a little burnt by the exhaust pipe.Just on the inside and it is now not smelling more and not burning so i don't care about it. greetings, Ben
