Testing equipment and detailed testing procedures

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Imaging Resource Discussion : One Thread

I am a representative of Interian Wireless Solutions. We are putting together a verification plan for a digital camera. I am looking for some assistance to put together a list of test equipment and test procedures required to adequately test digital cameras. If you could assist me it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time.

At its simplest, the plan just says: "Press the button, and ensure a picture comes out." At the other end of the scale, you might need to check out the lens abberations, shutter speed accuracy, shutter lag, tonal response, colour response, and for this you will need an optical bench, oscilloscope, test charts, computer software, computers... the list could go on.

Any verification plan really starts with "What do we need this kit to do?" and then describes tests that verify those functions. Until you know the answer to that quastion, there's not a lot more to say.
